Fulfilling using a 3PL (third party logistics) company

A third-party logistics (3PL) company will hold inventory and ship it to your customers on your behalf, upon receiving goods out note data.

Managing inventory

Even though the inventory is not kept at one of your warehouses, you still own it and it therefore needs to be recorded in Brightpearl.

A dedicated warehouse should be added in order to represent your 3PL. Inventory kept at the 3PL's facilities should be added to the warehouse, using their actual asset value.

Fulfilling inventory

When sales which need to be fulfilled using the 3PL download, follow the normal process for fulfilling from your own warehouse, ensuring the goods out notes are set to use the 3PL warehouse.

The only difference is that the goods out note will need to be sent to the 3PL so they can process it through to shipment.
