Adyen Verifone V400m card terminal setup

Verifone V400m currently works via Wi-Fi only; Bluetooth pairing is not yet available for this model.

Set up and activate the Adyen payment method in Brightpearl settings

You can find the instructions to set up and activate the Adyen payment method here.

Please make sure that you have added the Adyen payment method to your POS payment methods for your store at Settings > Brightpearl POS > Store settings > {select store} > edit > Payment methods. If you have previously activated iZettle, PayPal Here or Moneris you must remove it before adding Adyen.

Set up your Adyen Verifone V400m card reader

Connect Adyen terminal to Wi-Fi

    • Plug the device to power and turn it on
    • Press the Configure Network button on the display
    • Press 2. Wi-Fi
    • Press 1. Make sure the Wi-Fi is turned on
    • The terminal will begin scanning for Wi-Fi networks
    • Choose the desired network and enter the network password
    • The terminal sets the network as default automatically and connects to it
    • Exit the network menu

Configure your Adyen Customer account for your terminal and load settings back to the terminal

    • Log in to the Adyen Customer Area with your credentials
    • Go to Point of Sale > Stores
      • There you should be seeing the stores in your account

      • If not, try changing the view to other Adyen accounts you have (if applicable) by selecting it at the top right corner link > switch accounts
        • If you can’t see any stores in any of your accounts or miss some of them, you will need to address this to Adyen support to have them set your store(s) up or investigate why they are not shown if already set up

    • Go to Point of Sale > Terminals
      • There you should be seeing the terminals in your account either at the “In store” or “Inventory” tab or both
      • If you don’t see any terminals in any of the tabs, try changing the view to other Adyen accounts you have (if applicable) by selecting it at the top right corner link > switch accounts
        • If you can’t see any terminals in any of your accounts, you will need to address this to Adyen support to have them set your terminal(s) up or investigate why they are not shown if already set up
      • If the terminal that you would like to board (identify by the Serial Number) is found under the “Inventory” tab:
        • Select it from the tick box at the left and select “Reassign” at the right bottom of the page
        • Assign the selected terminal to the store you’d like to by looking up the store name
        • The selected terminal should now be visible at the “In store” tab:

  • If the terminal that you would like to board is found under the “In store” tab or you have just re-assigned it there, click on it
  • Make sure the following settings are present:
    • At “Currencies and amounts” tab, “Brands and currencies”: your required card brands and currencies are all mentioned

  • If any of them are missing, you will need to address this to Adyen support to have them set the brands and/or currencies up or investigate why they are not shown if already set up
    • At “Terminal API” tab, “General”: the following fields should all be set to “Yes”:
      • Enable Terminal API
      • Enable DCC
      • Enable WebSockets

  • At the “Advanced” tab, select “View decrypted properties”, go back to the “Advanced” tab, and make a note of the “Admin menu pin” which you will need at your terminal
  • Save your changes
    • Go to Account > Users > {select ws@xxxx user by clicking on it} > Roles and Associated Accounts > “Roles”
      • Make sure they are all enabled

  • If you can’t see all the above roles accounts, you will need to address this to Adyen support to have them set up or investigate why they are not shown if already set up
      • Do the same for “Accounts”

      • Save any changes
    • Go to Point of Sale > Board terminals
      • At “Is the terminal integrated with a cash register” select “No”

      • This selection will expand the options below, where the following should be filled in:
        • Terminal type = Your terminal model, the one supported and tested by Brightpearl is “Verifone-V400m”
        • Serial number = the device’s serial number as found at the back of the device (for model “Verifone-V400m”) marked with S/N
        • Merchant account = start typing and select from the results the related account
        • Store = start typing and select from the results of the related store
      • If you have more than one terminals to board, you can select “Add more” to add their details
      • Select “Register”
      • You will then be redirected to the page where you can get your one time password to enter at your terminal. Press at “Show one time password”

      • Go back to your terminal and make sure it’s turned on
      • On the terminal screen, tap "Board the terminal"
        • Enter your one-time password. The terminal may reboot more than once
          • If the terminal displays the message: “No payment method configured” you need to add the POS payment methods to your account and retry
        • After rebooting, the terminal will receive the merchant configuration, and you can begin processing payments
        • The terminal is ready when you can see the Adyen logo on the screen
      • If you need to manually reboot your terminal:
        • At the POS device, press 9 then Enter
        • Enter the Admin menu pin
        • Go to Config -> sync
        • The POS reboots to pull all latest updates
        • The terminal is ready when you can see the Adyen logo on the screen

Take your first payment in POS with Adyen

  • When ready to process a payment in POS, go to the checkout screen
  • Select Adyen as the payment gateway
    • In case you cannot see the option for Adyen, you might need to close and re-open the app or uninstall and reinstall it
  • The first time this message comes up:

    Select “OK” and then select your terminal from the list
  • It’s then ready to accept the payment, as you can see at the terminal screen and the app:

    You need to select the terminal only the first time you process a payment with Adyen.
