Testing Brightpearl POS via TestFlight

When you are invited to test a version of Brightpearl POS via TestFlight, please follow the steps described in this article.

Make sure to complete the below process via the iPad you intend to use for testing and not via your computer or phone.
Make sure to check if any orders are pending to be sync'ed in your existing POS as per the instructions below. If orders are not sync'ed before the app is deleted, they will be lost.

Getting ready to test a Brightpearl POS version via TestFlight

  1. If you already have an existing Brightpearl POS app, before you delete your existing POS in order to install the new one from TestFlight, please check that you do NOT have any orders pending to be sync'ed.
You can check this by going to Menu > Sales Search > Magnifying glass > Pending sync. If you do have sales there, you need to sync them first, otherwise they will be lost when POS is deleted and reinstalled.

    1. To force the sync'ing of any sales pending, you can tap on the sale and then Options (three dots) > Restore

as well as go to the Menu > Support > Sync > Sync.

    2. If your pending sync sales are not synced after these steps, it's not recommended to delete the app until that happens.
  2. If you have multiple iPads, it would be safer to start by installing the TestFlight it to only one iPad at first, testing it and then installing it in the rest.
  3. If you already have an existing Brightpearl POS app, remove it. You can do that by long pressing on the app icon and then tapping Delete App.

  4. Staying on the iPad, open the email you have received as an invite by TestFlight by using your preferred mail app (e.g. Gmail, Outlook) or via a web browser (e.g. Safari, Chrome).
