Following on from last month's focus on summer sales and with the season in full swing, we're following it up with no less than six (yes - count them - six) new features for Brightpearl POS plus new additions to Amazon, Shopify and Magento. AND if that hasn't whet your appetite, new features in accounting, purchasing and a new API call should see it right.
Dashboards | Preview
Our new Dashboards widgets will be launched very soon. Use the power of your data along with Brightpearl's extensive filtering capabilities to get the best out of your business. You can also read more about the feature in the documentation.
Brightpearl POS | Promotions and discounts
We've taken on feedback on our promotions and discounts and are pleased to announce they're now live in POS. Try it out!
Brightpearl POS | Long-pressing on the product tile to open modal
We know that every second counts when you're taking sales, so we've reduced the time the product modal takes to open by long-pressing on the product tile.
Brightpearl POS | Price breaks
Following on from June's Release Notes, price breaks are now fully enabled taking into account the total item quantity across your entire basket. If your store’s default price list contains price breaks or the added customer’s price list does, the prices in your basket will now be updated automatically depending on the total basket quantity. Brightpearl POS | "Hardware” section revamp
We've rewritten the instructions in the Settings > Hardware section for every device you need to connect to your POS, focusing on step-by-step descriptions and details that make a difference with clickthroughs to the relevant Brightpearl Help Centre pages should you need more info.
Brightpearl POS | New receipt format for reprints
Sometimes you want to differentiate between an original receipt and a reprint. So now when a receipt is reprinted (for a refund, gift receipt, or just reprinted) the receipt header contains the word REPRINT with the sale date and time and the reprint date and time.
Brightpearl POS | Total sales amount at the Sale Complete screen
We've have added the total sales amount at the sale complete screen to help cashiers check the final amount and the change as well as read back to customer.
Accounting | Tax settings and permissions
To make it easier for you, we've grouped all our tax configuration settings under a new tax section in the left-hand menu of the main settings screen in Brightpearl. Here you'll find your default tax settings, tax components, tax codes, tax zones and tax regimes. All these settings are now controlled by the user permission Accounts > Settings.
Amazon | Download of pending orders
When an item sells on Amazon, the order is held in a pending state from 30 minutes to 21 days. By the time the order downloads to Brightpearl, merchants may not have the items required to fulfill the order in stock. To prevent overselling, Brightpearl can now download Amazon orders that are in “pending” state and reserve the stock against those orders.
To enable this setting, go to Amazon marketplace settings > Download pending orders and enable the setting. Read more about Amazon pending orders here.
Magento | Credit Memo
Up until now, when merchants were refunding customers via their Magento admin area using credit memos, they also had to create sales credit records in Brightpearl manually. Now this manual task will be automated via the connector.
Go to Brightpearl integration configuration > Interaction: Export Credit memo to enable the creation of sales credits from credit memos. There are multiple settings that need to be configured to get it set up and running. Read more about it here.
Shopify | Shopify shipping carrier mapping
Brightpearl now allows merchants to map Shopify shipping carriers to Brightpearl shipping methods so that correct carrier-specific fulfillment information is sent to Shopify.
Shopify offers merchants the ability to add tracking information to orders so that consumers can track their order’s progress without having to call the merchant. Shopify uses a combination of ‘Tracking carrier’ and ‘Tracking Reference’ and produces tracking URLs that will take consumers to the carrier’s website with the tracking reference filled in already so that they can track the parcel’s progress without having to type anything in.
A new setting called Shipping carrier mapping can be found under the Fulfillments tab in the Shopify connector.

Purchases | Require channel when saving purchase orders
When saving a purchase it is possible to set a channel against the order for reporting purposes. The purchase order list, purchase detail report, P&L and various other reports can be filtered by this value.
It is now possible to make channel a mandatory field for POs, such that they cannot be saved until the channel is specified. This can be configured at Settings > Purchases > Purchase settings.
API | Product PUT
We've added a new endpoint which allows you to update existing products. When using this API call please be aware of concurrency protection; a version number is now provided in the Product GET response and it is recommended to pass this value in the "If-Match" header field when calling the Product PUT. This ensures the state of the product is the same as when you loaded the information, i.e. no concurrent change has taken place. Learn more here.
