This article is a step by step guide to create a sales dashboard. The sales dashboard created will show the cost of sales by channel and lead source and the volume of items sold per channel and lead source. Additionally the orders displayed will only be invoiced and created in the last 90 days.
Create a new dashboard
To create a new dashboard, navigate to "Dashboards" and choose either "My dashboards" or "List dashboards" :
Click the "Create new" button :
You will be prompted with a modal, here you can enter a name and description for the dashboard. You can also assign and authorize users against the dashboard.
Click "Next" to create the dashboard.
After creating your dashboard, you will be directed to the dashboard edit page. From there click any of the "add widget" button to bring up the widget browser. You can search widgets name and description to quickly find the relevant ones. Choose "Sales cost by channel" and "Sales items by channels".
"Sales cost by channels" show the cost of all your sales excluding those in cancelled status broken down by channels. "Sales items by channels" shows the number of product in those orders.
Filter a widget
At this stage, you might want to filter the sales shown in your widgets. By clicking on the widget configuration icon () you can access the widgets filters screen. This screens display all available filters along with a live preview of the widget. You can also access the dashboards filters from this screen allowing you to make adjustments to those if needed.
Navigate to the order filters then in the order status select only "Invoiced" (or the relevant status for your business). Click done to save your changes.
Do this for the second widget as well, now the graphs only show data for invoiced orders.
Clone a widget
When you create a dashboard, you might find you want multiple widgets with the same base data but slightly different settings. For example a different date range or status filter. For this you can clone widgets to avoid keying all other filters again.
In this example, clone both widgets and place each copy besides the originals. Navigate to the filters and in the chart options choose "order - lead source" as breakdown. The rest of the filters remains unchanged.
Do this for the second widget as well, and rename them accordingly (replace "by channel" with "by lead source") now the graphs show the same data but broke down by lead source.
Save the dashboard to persist your changes.
Change dashboard filters
Finally, change the dashboard filters intervals to "last 90 days" and 1 weekly increment and press "Filter". You can also create a preset to easily recall those settings.
If you have a lot of channels, you can choose the relevant ones for you in "channels".
