Adyen Verifone V400m card terminal setup

Note: Verifone V400m currently works via WiFi only. Bluetooth pairing is not yet available for this model.

Set up and activate the Adyen payment method in Brightpearl settings

You can find the instructions to set up and activate the Adyen payment method here.

Make sure that you have added the Adyen payment method to your POS payment methods for your store in the Brightpearl back office by going to Settings > Brightpearl POS > Store settings > {select store} > edit > Payment methods.

If you have previously activated Zettle, PayPal Here or Moneris you must remove it before adding Adyen.

Set up your Adyen Verifone V400m card reader

Connect the Adyen terminal to WiFi

  • Plug in the device to power and turn it on
  • Press the Configure Network button on the display
  • Press 2. WiFi
  • Press 1. Make sure the WiFi is turned on
  • The terminal will begin scanning for WiFi networks
  • Choose the desired network and enter the network password
  • The terminal will then set the network as the default and connect to it automatically
  • Exit the network menu

Configure your Adyen Customer account for your terminal and load settings back to the terminal

  • Log in to the Adyen Customer Area with your credentials
  • Go to Point of Sale > Stores
    • You should see the stores in your account:

    • If you don't, try viewing other Adyen accounts you have (if applicable) by clicking the the link in the top right corner, then clicking "switch accounts"
      • If you can’t see any stores in any of your accounts, you will need to contact Adyen support to have them set your store(s) up or investigate why they are not appearing if they've already been set up.
  • Go to Point of Sale > Terminals
    • There you should see the terminals in your account, on the “In store” tab, the “Inventory” tab, or both
    • If you don’t see any terminals in any of the tabs, try viewing other Adyen accounts you have (if applicable) by clicking the the link in the top right corner, then clicking "switch accounts"
      • If you can’t see any terminals in any of your accounts, you will need to contact Adyen support to have them set your terminal(s) up or investigate why they are not appearing if they've already been set up.
    • If the terminal that you would like to board (identified by the Serial Number) is found under the “Inventory” tab:
      • Select it from the tick box on the left-hand side and select “Reassign” at the bottom right of the page
      • Assign the selected terminal to the required store by looking up the store name
      • The selected terminal should now be visible on the “In store” tab:

  • Once the terminal that you would like to board is found on the “In store” tab, click on it
  • Make sure the following settings are present:
    • On the “Currencies and amounts” tab, ensure your required card brands and currencies are all mentioned in the “Brands and currencies” section

  • If any brands or currencies are missing, contact Adyen support to have them set the brands and/or currencies up, or investigate why they are not appearing
    • On the “Terminal API” tab, in the “General” section, the following fields should all be set to “Yes”:
      • Enable Terminal API
      • Enable DCC
      • Enable WebSockets

  • On the “Advanced” tab, select “View decrypted properties”. Then go back to the “Advanced” tab, and make a note of the “Admin menu pin” - you'll need it at your terminal
  • Save your changes
  • Go to Account > Users > {select the ws@xxxx user by clicking on it} > Roles and Associated Accounts > “Roles”
    • Make sure all of the roles are enabled:
      • API clientside encryption payments role
      • Checkout webservice role
      • Merchant PAL webservice role
      • Merchant recurring role
      • Submit POS payments

  • If you can’t see all the above roles, you will need to contact Adyen support to have them set the roles up or investigate why they are not appearing
    • Click into "Accounts" and make sure all “Accounts” are enabled
      • Brightpearl Company
      • BrightpearlCOM MerchantAccount

  • If you can’t see all of the above accounts, you will need to contact Adyen support to have them set the accounts up or investigate why they are not appearing
    • Save any changes
  •  
  • Go to Point of Sale > Board terminals
    • Set “Is the terminal integrated with a cash register” to “No”

    • This selection will expand the options below, where the following should be filled in:
      • Terminal type: Your terminal model. The model supported and tested by Brightpearl is “Verifone-V400m”
      • Serial number: The device’s serial number as found at the back of the device, marked with S/N (for model “Verifone-V400m”)
      • Merchant account: Start typing and select the related account from the results
      • Store: Start typing and select the related store from the results
    • If you have more than one terminal to board, you can click “Add more” to configure their details
    • Click “Register”
    • You will then be redirected to the page where you can get your one time password to enter at your terminal. Click “Show one time password”.

    • Go back to your terminal and make sure it’s turned on
    • On the terminal screen, tap "Board the terminal"
      • Enter your one-time password. The terminal may reboot more than once
        • If the terminal displays the message “No payment method configured”, add the Adyen payment method to your account and try again
      • After rebooting, the terminal will receive the merchant configuration, and you can begin processing payments
      • The terminal is ready when you can see the Adyen logo on the screen
    • If you need to manually reboot your terminal:
      • On the POS device, press 9 then Enter
      • Enter the Admin menu pin
      • Go to Config > Sync
      • The POS will then reboot to pull the latest updates
      • The terminal will be ready when you see the Adyen logo on the screen

Take your first payment in POS with Adyen

  • When you're ready to process a payment in POS, go to the checkout screen
  • Select Adyen as the payment gateway
    • If you can't see the option for Adyen, try closing and reopening the app, or uninstalling and reinstalling it
  • You will receive an error message:

    Click “OK” and select your terminal from the list
  • The POS app will then be ready to accept the payment, which you'll see on the terminal screen and the app:

    You only need to select the terminal the first time you process a payment with Adyen.
