The Catalog section in Demand Planner is central point to manage vendors, costs, warehouse lead times, listings, bundles, components, forecast settings, alerts and more:

Maintaining vendor details and attributes is key for creating purchase orders, generating reports, and recommending replenishment accurately. 

Demand Planner syncs supplier details from Brightpearl, however within Demand Planner's Catalog you can use the Vendors section to view vendors and edit details related to them. View the Vendors article for detailed instructions on creating vendors and updating vendor catalog details.


At Catalog > Listings you can view all variants and the Brightpearl account(s) from which they are linked. You can use this report to connect multiple versions of the same item.

  • For instance, if you have more than one Brightpearl account connected to Demand Planner and these accounts sell the same SKU, you may wish to combine the listings to view a single variant in Demand Planner
  • If you have multiple versions of the same variant, i.e. you sell the same SKU in two different ways. You may need to link these listings together to display as a single variant.

Demand Planner attempts to link listing together automatically based on matching product information, e.g. SKUs, barcodes. Contact the Brightpearl support team if there is a straightforward rule that can be applied to automatically link together listings for your account.

If there is no straightforward rule, or if you prefer to track listings manually, you can enable "Manual" mode to add additional listings. Manual linking also allows you to assign a "Master SKU" which can be added as a column or filter in the replenishment and reporting tabs.


Connections and warehouses should be configured in Account Settings under Account > Settings > Connections & Warehouses.

Within the Catalog, the Warehouse page is designed to configure warehouse-related information for variants and bundles such as replenishment planning settings, e.g. lead times, days of stock), min/max stock and alerts.

Import warehouse-related data

Use the Import function to adjust settings in bulk:

  • A Catalog > Warehouses, go to Import > Replenishment

Forecast settings

This section within the Catalog allows you to configure and manage forecast methods and settings for your variants.

Demand Planner pulls product, sales, and stock information from Brightpearl to provide forecasted needs and replenishment recommendations at the variant (SKU) level. Forecast settings can be customized by variant, or the same method can be used for all variants using the default settings.

Default forecast settings should be configured in Account Settings by selecting Account > Settings > Forecast.

To customize forecast settings by variants, go to Catalog > Forecast settings then enable the "Custom Forecast Settings" checkbox next to any items:


These settings can also be adjusted throughout Demand Planner by selecting the Details icon next to any item and then navigating to the Forecast settings tab, or in bulk by selecting multiple items at Replenishment > Bulk actions > Set forecast settings.

Bundles and components

A bundle includes one or more components that are either pre-assembled before the sale and fulfillment of an item (produced) or immediately after the sale occurs (non-produced). Forecasting and replenishment is handled differently for items with a bundle/component relationship. Configuring bundles properly is key to ensure that enough components are ordered to cover the needs of its individual sales (if applicable) plus the sales as part of bundles.

At Catalog > Bundles components you can configure new produced bundles by selecting the button to Convert Variant To Bundle in the bottom left.

Note: non-produced bundles should always be configured within Brightpearl back office.


Select an existing variant to convert into a new bundle and click Apply then Save changes. A message in red font will display next to the new bundle to add components. Ensure you enable the checkbox for 'produced bundle' and then select the "+" icon to add existing variants:


After adding variants and selecting Save changes, you can configure the quantity for each component.
