The Sales overview dashboard is designed to roll up order data into key metrics. To access the Sales overview dashboard, log into Brightpearl analytics and select BI Tunnel > Sales overview.
Report parameters
The filters available are:
- Channel
A multi-select option where you can select which channels should be considered, Leaving this empty will return ‘all channels’. - Order type
Allows you to choose between sales or purchase orders. - Order status
A multi-select option where you can limit the revenue figures to only consider orders on the selected statuses (useful if you want to exclude drafts or cancelled orders). - Date range
Allows you to configure a timeframe for the data set presented.
Widgets / tiles
Gross revenue
A sum of all revenue, less Cost of Goods Sold.
COGS
A sum of the cost fields across all orders. This represents the ‘Order row cost’ field from Brightpearl, shown here. When orders are first created, this is populated using the cost price list of the order, and then once you ship items Brightpearl will update it with the asset cost of the inventory used to ship (which are governed by FIFO, and may vary from what’s on the price list).
Net profit
Gross revenue - tax - cost
Orders
The total number of orders placed, regardless of fulfilment or shipping status. By default this will include returns, though you can use the order status filters to remove them.
KPIs by Date
Plots the key metrics COGS, Gross Revenue and Net Profit monthly over the filtered time period.
Orders by channel
Bar chart of all orders placed by channel.
Gross revenue by channel

Orders by lead source
