Brightpearl Point of Sale will run with many types of printer and barcode scanner, however we can't provide customer support for those that we have not approved and tested with. The following are recommended and confirmed to run well with the EPOS module.
Brightpearl EPOS will work on any touch screen. We already have customers using the iiyama 2250mts touch .
Thermal receipt printers
We recommend the Star TSP 100 thermal receipt printer because they plug straight into a USB port and support better receipt formatting. This can be purchased online from retailers such as POS Hardware or The Barcode Warehouse .
You can also use the EPSON TMT88 series (Mark 4 only) - though you'll just get text-only receipts with no formatting.
Since you're printing from a browser, you'll need to turn off the header and footer. We recommend using Firefox for Point of Sale, since it gives you much better control over printing than Google Chrome.
Since the cash drawer actually connects to the back of the printer, it doesn't really matter what you buy, as long as it's supported by the printer. Again we recommend something from Star; the Star Micronics CB2002 Cash drawer for use with the Star thermal printer. This can also be purchased online from retailers such as POS Hardware or The Barcode Warehouse .
The print driver that comes with the Star printers can be configured to kick open the cash drawer once the receipt is printed.
If you're on a budget, we recommend the Touch 65/90 handheld barcode scanners. These are connected via USB and can be purchased from POS Hardware or The Barcode Warehouse . Any "keyboard-wedge" barcode scanner will work however; all it is doing when you scan is typing the numbers into the field and pressing "Enter" afterwards.
You can also use a Bluetooth barcode scanner with an iPad to speed up data entry - an iPad is also handy to have with you whilst you are in store but away from the till.
