Rule to apply above threshold. Only applies when the item cost is higher than the specified threshold. One of the following must be selected to apply to the tax rule:

  • Apply product’s tax code to amount above threshold. For example, threshold = $100, item cost = $110 therefore, only $10 gets taxed.
  • Apply product’s tax code to full amount. For example, threshold = $100, item cost = $110, therefore, $110 gets taxed.
  • Apply the following tax code instead of product’s tax code. Select a tax code to apply to the item when the cost is over the threshold specified.
  • Apply the store default tax code instead of product’s tax code. The store default overrides the product tax code when the cost is over the threshold specified.

Rule to apply below threshold. Only applies when the item cost is lower than the specified threshold. One of the following must be selected to apply to the tax rule:

  • Apply product’s tax code to full amount. For example, threshold = $100, item cost = $90, therefore, $90 gets taxed.
  • Apply the following tax code instead of product’s tax code. Select a tax code to apply to the item when the cost is below the threshold specified.
  • Apply the store default tax code instead of product’s tax code. The store default overrides the product tax code when the cost is below the threshold specified.

Once configured, select ‘Create tax rule’ to save the settings.
